MultiCAN implements a CAN Bus device support for EPICS. EPICS is a framework for control systems, the CAN Bus is a reliable real-time field bus. The ‘Multi’ und MultiCAN stands for ‘Multi Protocol support’, so it supports more than one protocol for CAN Bus communication. MultiCAN has support for the CANOpen protocol and the older CAN Application Layer (CAL).

PiXtend® multiplies the capabilities of the Raspberry Pi and forms the ideal basis for challenging projects. The PiXtend Platform provides numerous digital and analog inputs & outputs as well as a variety of serial interfaces like RS232, RS485 and CAN. In this repository you can find the Linux C library called "pxdev" that can be used to develop your own Linux applications for the PiXtend system (V1 & V2). Sample programs for every PiXtend version are also included in this repository. The build file compiles them all - the library itself and the sample programs. Experix is a command-line driven environment for laboratory data acquisition and device control and graphical presentation and analysis of data. Written in C for GNU-Linux . Tested on PC and Raspberry Pi. The core is written very generally in order to support applications by means of script files. Device interfaces: PCMCIA daq (2 devices tested) via kernel module with interrupt handler and memory-mapped data; USB daq (1 device tested) using libusbx; running an equipment servicing program via pipes. Interfaces accessible via commands and scripts: file i/o modelled on stdio and stdlib; usb control and bulk transfers; socket operations; webcam; graphics via framebuffer. Applications (not all available yet for download) include: cell poker (like an atomic force microscope); tissue mechanical tester; fluorescence photobleaching; alternating laser excitation fluorescence; fluorescence intensity distribution analysis; iverilog simulation analysis.

This project is aimed at producing open source hardware for real time use in industrial automation. This project will have a few sub-projects that will focus on individual hardware for various industrial purpose. Some of the sub-projects will be of type Field-IO Modules development, Analog-IO Module development etc.
