The goal of this project is to understand location-based strings in every language, everywhere. Addresses and the locations they represent are essential for any application dealing with maps (place search, transportation, on-demand/delivery services, check-ins, reviews). Yet even the simplest addresses are packed with local conventions, abbreviations and context, making them difficult to index/query effectively with traditional full-text search engines. This library helps convert the free-form addresses that humans use into clean normalized forms suitable for machine comparison and full-text indexing. Though libpostal is not itself a full geocoder, it can be used as a preprocessing step to make any geocoding application smarter, and simpler.

ARKit uses camera and motion data to map out the local world as you move around. CoreLocation uses wifi and GPS data to determine your global location, with a low degree of accuracy. ARKit + CoreLocation combines the high accuracy of AR with the scale of GPS data. The potential for combining these technologies is huge, with so many potential applications across many different areas. Allow items to be placed within the AR world using real-world coordinates. Dramatically improved location accuracy, using recent location data points combined with knowledge about movement through the AR world. The improved location accuracy is currently in an “experimental” phase, but could be the most important component. The library and demo come with a bunch of additional features for configuration. The project includes a software, which uses an AI for autonomous sailing of a small sailing boat, equipped with various sensors and GPS. There are various methods for evaluation and improvement of sensor data, route planning, collision avoidance.
