IMG4DC is a tools package containing two utilities to generate selfboot disc images for your Sega Dreamcast: cdi4dc, designed to make Padus DiscJuggler (CDI) images and mds4dc, designed to make Alcohol 120% (MDS/MDF) images. A selfboot image is a disc image format specially prepared to boot on your Dreamcast. In clear, by burning a selfboot image to a standard blank CD-R, the software containted into this disc image will run onto your Dreamcast, as a legit game disc, without any modchip or other hacking device. To use this software package, you must have mkisofs from the cdrtools project. This tool will create the ISO image needed by img4dc. This program emulate the Sega's System 16 arcade boards used by many Sega arcade game between 1987 & 1989 like Shinobi, Altered Beast or E-Swat. There is more than 20 existing System 16 games. The System 16 board uses a Motorola 68000 cpu at 10Mhz for the main program and a Z80 and on YM2151 for the sound. The actual version of the emulator emulate many more than the single System 16 board because now you can play with System 18 games like Shadow Dancer, with pre-System 16 games like Quartet II and even with some dual 68000 games like Hang-On and Space Harrier. a multiplatform, full-featured GameBoy classic emulator
zBoy is a multiplatform GameBoy emulator that provides a load/save feature, can perform PCX screenshots either manually or automatically (every few seconds) and emulates an internal battery for ROMs that were designed to use one (this allows to use the internal save option provided by such games, remember highest scores, etc). zBoy supports some additionnal features, too, like intelligent saving of hi-scores for some games that aren't able to save their hi-scores table by themselves because of the lack of a battery-backed RAM on the cartridge, and improving screen's resolution output using graphic algorithms like Scale2x, Scale3x, eagle... Here you can see a comparison between graphic algorithms supported by zBoy. This is also one of the very few GameBoy emulators that provides a 2-gameboys link emulation, which makes it possible to play some games in 2-players mode on a LAN. The emulator is available for Linux, DOS and Windows (but should compile for other systems, too). -
