Open Source File Systems

This project serves as a collection of different free software projects that I'm working on. The major ones are currently "HFSExplorer", "DMGExtractor", and "NTFS-3G for Mac OS X".

WinDirStat (Windows Directory Statistics) is a disk usage statistics viewer and cleanup tool for Windows. On start up, WinDirStat reads the whole directory tree once and then presents it in three useful views. The official download location and collaboration platform for WinDirStat has moved to GitHub: https://github.com/windirstat/windirstat Downloads and source code provided on SourceForge may not always be up to date. They are primarily used for disaster recovery purposes.

Extundelete is a utility to undelete files from an ext3 or ext4 partition.

httpfs depends on FUSE. It uses HTTP/1.1 extensions to read arbitrary bytes from a file on a web-server. This is particular interesting for an iso, since it can be investigated (loop device) without actually downloading the whole iso.

Portable, fully-threaded I/O benchmark program

Partclone is a project like the well-known backup utility "Partition Image" a.k.a partimage. Partclone provide utilities to back up used blocks and design for higher compatibility of the file system using supported library like e2fslibs.

Gptgen is a tool to non-destructively convert hard disks partitioned in the common, "MSDOS-style" MBR scheme (including extended partitions) to use a GUID partition table (GPT).

USB Memory Stick Tester is a small application designed to help testing removable storage media (such as USB memory sticks) for defects

The Xbox Linux Project aims to privide a version of GNU/Linux for the Xbox, so that it can be used as an ordinary computer. Linux should make use of all Xbox hardware and allow to install and run software from standard i386 Linux distributions.

Development on this project has moved to https://sourceforge.net/projects/ntfs-3g/ The goals of this project are: create a new Linux kernel driver for the NTFS file system (1.2, 3.x, and later), user space utilities (e.g. format, ntfs check, etc.) and a library to avoid code duplication and provide access to NTFS to other GPL programs.
