Open Source CAD Software

MaxFem is an open software package for electromagnetic simulation by using finite element methods. The package can solve problems in electrostatics, direct current, magnetostatics and eddy-currents. Since version 0.4.0, MaxFEM requires Python 3. We have moved the installers to the MaxFEM website (see below). In order to improve MaxFEM, we will require you to fill out a simple form before downloading them.

ArchNURBS is a MATLAB tool for the analysis of planar curved structures, with a particular attention to masonry arches. As in CAD softwares, the geometry of the model is defined by a NURBS representation of the structure. Indeed, the user can upload geometries imported from a CAD environment. Based on such a representation, ArchNURBS performs the elastic isogeometric finite element analysis and the collapse limit analysis of the structure. It is possible to include in the analysis the presence of Fiber-Reinforced Polymers (FRP) extrados and intrados strips. Starting off as a simple LISP command in AutoCAD this HAVC pipe size calculator was migrated to a standalone Java application. Calculates HVAC minimum pipe ID based on GPM and FPS for numerous fluid types (found in the fluid density chart on EngineeringToolbox.com) Includes a table to automatically calculate riser piping sizes per floor.
