An updated Beginners guide to FreeBASIC
The purpose of this project is to create and update a beginners guide to FreeBASIC. Over the years I have noticed that there was only three real ways to learn FreeBASIC. The FreeBASIC Documentation, the FreeBASIC Community Forum, and A old beginners guide written by Richard D. Clark and Ebben Feagan. Each of these sources are great, but they all assume some experience with a programming language. This Project is taking Richard D. Clark's and Ebben Feagan's "A Beginner's Guide to FreeBasic" and is editing, updating, reorganizing, and simplifying this guide. Mr. Clark and Mr. Feagan generously open sourced there guide so I could start this project. Without being able to stand on their shoulders I could not have even started this project. Have you ever wanted to have a portable MindGuard operating system, that can live inside a small USB flash drive and you can carry it around with you? Although, this is possible and have been around for some time. It was possible for a paranoid to run MindGuard from a USB stick just like you would have run it from a hard drive, but this task was quite hard to do. Why? Because the process was very geeky! You had to type a lot of geeky commands in a terminal and if, somehow, you forgot one or typed something wrong, the process had to be started all over again. Well, the process is now not at all geeky with Mind Guard Linux available that makes it possible for anyone to create a bootable CD/DVD or USB flash drive with MindGuard in it. Mind Guard Linux 2018 is available now, based on Ubuntu 16.04LTS. User Name & Password is Linux. MGL NoPAE ISO is for Machines with 4GB RAM & MGL PAE ISO is for Machines with Maximum up to 64GB of RAM. Mind Guard is the Glasses. -

Bingo Cards
Prepare bingo cards game for any educational purpose.
The idea is simple. Instead of solving exercises in serial form in the classroom, it is better to wrap the solving exercises experience with a game similar to Bingo. The students will love it and the teacher will have a very nice time! This extension provides Calc with a tool able to create Bingo Cards and the corresponding interactive document to play the game in the classroom. The teacher type in the Bingo sheet the questions and the corresponding answers and he/she gets the cards in the Bingo Cards sheet. A printer is required to print the BINGO cards and a scissor to cut them apart while the classroom should be equipped with a projector and a computer running OpenOffice or LibreOffice. Download BingoCards-3.1.4.zip and unzip in your computer. Please install the APPROPRIATE .oxt for your system, the other versions will NOT work! Some representative examples are included. Emeritus Pong
A clone of the good old "Pong" game.
Emeritus Pong is a clone of the good old "Pong" game. It tries to be relatively close to the original, therefore no fancy graphic or astonishing sound effects there. Emeritus Pong is written to be able to run on any modern PC. There are three versions available: DOS, Windows and Linux. Emeritus Pong features also a cool demo mode, which makes it playing against itself, displaying the current time as scores. The game is programmed to run flawlessly on any modern PC, but it will run on older architectures, too. A 90 MHz Pentium CPU and 2 Mb of RAM should be enough to run comfortably the DOS version. Emeritus Pong may run in any usual resolution, ranging from 320x240 to 1280x1024, fullscreen or windowed. If you would like to use any other video mode (not available from the game's setup), you will have to manually edit the empong.cfg configuration file. Windows and Linux versions require a sound card for sound, and DOS version simply uses the internal PC Speaker. -

As on many download websites it was mentioned as open sources (but no source available) I decided to rebuild if almost from scratch. As a transistor database may be useful i decide to share what I've done. It has been written in Purebasic because IDE is free till 800 lines of code written, and mainly because it's very portable with a lot of library embedded. -

The software works with the Fine Offset WH290 and similar models (including clones such as the Pro-Signal PSG04173). It also works with the Oregon Scientific WMR180 weather station (and probably similar models such as the WMR88 and WMR100) as well as the older WMR928. Sample weather data is provided. -
