HOOPLE is a portable collection of C++ source code, featuring thread-safe objects for collections and event processing, RPC-style plugin-based encrypted networking (CROMP / octopus), bookmark collection management utilities, and a lot of other cool stuff. This is the project page for HOOPLE version 1, which was retired on September 25 2010. The code supposedly still builds on both Linux (with gnu gcc) and on Windows (with ms visual studio). This application talks to a GPS device over the NMEA protocol via the WIGSGPSComm API. The first version of the WIGS application will present the GPS data in an intuitive fashion, and later releases will be further enhanced with special map support.

The FCC publishes pools of questions for each of the three Amateur Service (Ham Radio) license exams. Two of my programs clean and parse the files and put the questions and answers into a small lightweight database (SQLite) file. The third program generates practice tests which you can focus on particular areas of the exam or randomly select across the pool. The db file in the project is up to date as of February 3rd, 2020. When the FCC issues new/updated exam pools you can use the cleaning and parsing programs to update the database information. The project includes source code files. You may use them in your projects but you must give me attribution according to the GNU License Version 3.

pycrc is an easy to use CRC (cyclic redundancy check) calculator and C source code generator. The generated source code can be optimized for simplicity, speed or space. pycrc contains a long parameter list of common CRC models. The program is self contained and does not require installation. Apart from a python installation, it does not require other libraries to be installed.
