Open Source Perl Mathematics Software

Arabeyes is a Meta project that is aimed at fully supporting the Arabic language in the Unix/Linux environment. It is designed to be a central location to standardize the Arabization process. Arabeyes relies on voluntary contributions.

The netCDF Operators, or NCO, are a suite of file operators which facilitate manipulation and analysis of self-describing data stored in the (freely available) netCDF and HDF formats. Volunteers welcome! See homepage for details and download links.

The PDL module gives standard perl the ability to COMPACTLY store and SPEEDILY manipulate the large N-dimensional data sets that are the bread and butter of scientific computing.

Portable software related to Mersenne numbers. Useful to automate certain tasks related to GIMPS (www.mersenne.org) for computers that cannot run the GIMPS software for whatever reason. Much of the code has been in use since 1990 or so by a few people. The project web site at https://mers.sourceforge.io/mersenne.html has data about Mersenne numbers from many people generated by this and other software, notably from the GIMPS project.

Trad4 is a fully concurrent, thread safe, graph-based programming language that scales linearly on multiple cores. It is initially intended for deployment in the financial industry to model real-time risk.

GGNFS is an open source implementation of General Number Field Sieve algorithm for factoring integers.

GladTeX is a preprocessor that enables the use of LaTeX maths within HTML code. The maths, embedded in <eq>..</eq> tags, as if within $$..$$ in LaTeX, is fed through latex and replaced by images. Additionally, alt-tags are auto-generated which display the LaTeX-equations when the HTML is viewed e.g. with a text mode browser or by someone with vision loss. Linear Programming (LP) has been used in the case of the Federalist Papers whose authorship had been disputed. The task here will be to use the Cell Broadband Engine to do likewise with papers whose authorship is disputed.

KHorn is a universal easy to use CAS (Computer Algebra System). It will be usable for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and other natural sciences. KHorn is based on the GMP library.

LavaRnd is a random number generator that converts a digitized chaotic source (such as a lens capped web camera) into cryptographically strong random numbers. LavaRnd comes with both an APIs (currently C and Perl) as well as a number of demos.

The Open Source Space Flight Dynamics (OSSFD) project is intended to provide the community with an open source solution to space flight dynamics.

Statistics modules in Perl Data Language, with a quick-start guide for non-PDL people. They make the PDL shell work like R, but with PDL threading (fast automatic iteration) of procedures including t-test, linear regression, and k-means clustering.

The goal is to use distributed computing in the least bandwidth-intensive way to find a large prime number. We will have four parts to the project.

Singular is a Computer Algebra system for polynomial computations with emphasis on the special needs of commutative algebra, algebraic geometry, and singularity theory.

A completely portable C++ library, to provide a standard set of classes similar to Java Common API. It's highly efficient and it follows the Embedded C++ Standard. It's FREE (LGPL licensed).

The dream of Leibniz. A project devoted to realising the lingua characteristica and calculus ratiocinator using XML technologies where appropriate. Includes (at this stage mainly consists of) research in philosophy and logic.

Collection of utilities based on two basics classes: Matematica and VarData. Matematica) performs math operations on vectors and matrices for smoothing, interpolation, convolution, image processing... VarData) manipulate a structure of points connected by links. Addraw) openGL engine. ElPoly) analyze mechanical properties of polymer and membrane like structures. Addyn) perform molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo simulations and has a solver for 4th oder PDE. Avvis) perform all the operation of Matematica on different sets of data visualized on a Qt graphical interface. DrImage) image manipulation on the Matematica filters. The program is intended to use as less as possible external libs (optional: openGL, gsl, fftw, cgal, png, tiff, boost, MPI, Qt...).

Quaternions are numbers with 4 parts: one for time, three for space.This project creates command line functions that generate thousands of points of quaternions, for the animation software. Think: analytical animation! See VisualPhysics.org examples.
