Ascending: 1900Rugrat

SoundCloud’s Ascending is a monthly series showcasing breakthrough artists from around the world poised to be the next superstar. The first Ascending artist for 2025 is none other than the braggadocious rapper 1900Rugrat. Already setting the tone for an unprecedented year, 19 has dominated the SoundCloud charts, trending playlists, and has been featured in his first-ever billboards in New York and London. If that wasn’t enough to have the best year yet, the Florida native is also currently touring with BossMan Dlow at a city near you.

Hailing from Limestone Creek, an enclave in Palm Beach County, 1900Rugrat got his start uploading tracks to Soundcloud eight years ago. Not to be overshadowed by a generationally prolific Florida hip-hop scene, he consistently dropped freestyles over compelling samples from artists like Lil Uzi Vert, Nancy Sinatra and Alicia Keys while honing his own signature sound.

Subsequently, he struck lightning in a bottle with an appearance on On The Radar performing “One Take Freestyle” that went viral, paying the way for him to reach new audiences with follow-up records like Clean + Dirty” and “Auntie Ain’t Playin” featuring Skrilla.

Believing in the power of speaking things into existence, 1900Rugrats notes, “I strongly believe in manifestation. I questioned my faith a lot when I was going through it, you feel me, and I be looking back on that and wish I didn’t.” He goes on by saying, “because right before I blew up, I told everybody around me.. just tell yourself, tell everybody we [about to be] be rich in two months.That was a month or two before everything started popping.”

Now his dreams are a reality with the recent release of his debut mixtape ‘Porch 2 The Pent,’ an energetic and introspective introduction to an artist who is one to watch for years to come. With assists from notable acts like Kodak Black and Lil Yachty, 1900Rugrat joins a new class of rappers making their way in the modern age and unapologetically captivating audiences with raw and authentic artistry.

In addition to the release, 1900Rugrat also breaks ground as the first artist featured in The Booth series where artists are invited to New York City to capture the live performance of an exclusive track.

Aware of his imminent rise in the industry, 1900Rugrat’s preparing for what’s to come saying “I’m manifesting a whole lot right now to this day …Big house, good money, good drip.”
