Sinjitos Collective is a music label founded by Joseph Saryuf with a vision of offering variety into the saturated Indonesian music scene. It was started as an outlet to release the music by Sinjitos Studio’s regulars before finally evolving into a legitimate label in 2007. Unlike many labels that limited themselves on releasing music within a specific genre, Sinjitos Collective is keen on releasing good music with diverse sounds and styles, whilst also distributing releases by other labels. For such a young label, Sinjitos Collective has some of the most impressive catalogs in recent years. Its first artist, Gugun And The Bluesbugs’ "Turn It On" is well-received among critics and music fans, and listed as one of the best local releases in 2007 by Rolling Stone Indonesia. In only two days after Turn It On, another band under SInjitos, Santamonica —which is Joseph’s band— gets nominated as The Best Local Release by Free! Magazine and listed as one of the favorites by editors of Trax Magazine as well as one of the best albums for its debut LPs “Curioser & Curiouser” in 2008 by Rolling Stone Magazine. Sinjitos’s third release, Monkey to Millionaire's “Lantai Merah” proven to be one of the most successful debut in 2009 and is well-received among fans and critics. The album is listed as the 2009's best lists by publications like Rolling Stone Indonesia, Trax Magazine, Detikcom, Jakarta Globe, and Malaysia's Junk Magazine.
