Growing up in this world, I found my refuge in nature. Lost among trees, resting in the sounds of rivers and brooks, forgetting about everything except the beauty of life surrounding me. Nature reflected back something deep within myself that I had lost touch with: the perennial joy that is the foundation of existence. I received the name Purl for the music that was flowing through me, as a tribute to the sounds of nature that had reminded me of the unimpeded flow; the essence of life.
