The three twenty-somethings met by chance outside of a recording studio and bonded over a mutual love of recording equipment and hardware synthesizers. Working individually as audio engineers, producers and touring musicians for many years before the group’s inception, the three have racked up credits spanning Atlantic Records, Warner, Universal, MTV, Vice, Def Jam, Play Me Records and many more. Track & Field’s debut release ‘Toetagged’ on No Tomorrow weaves rude hardware synth lines and frenetic sample work with deep, commanding rhythms. Complementing the release is a Topi remix which sees the dubstep bass producer show what he can do on an electro house tip. Rounding off the release is ‘The Color Purple’ a time-tested framework of dance music tradition with a modernist spin.
