Noel by Mikey 2

Up on the northern shoreline
one then two they fell
frozen coast deserted
noone there to tell
tumbling
spiraling
three then four they fell
making their landfall silent
light and soft and chill
Now comes a town dog barking
chasing flakes and smells
with a stooped gray haired companion
sweeping for coins and shells
ambling
scampering
blue sand gray pastel
at the edge of the world intoning
some strange and new noels
Now see their numbers growing
dusting land and sea
shrouds of white, forgiving
given so we might see you
covering
everything
sea and you and me
you don’t need me anymore
you won’t need me anymore
