Biography I am influenced by hybrid styled artists: Matt Johnson’s The The, Leftfield, Propellerheads and lyrically by Ian Dury and Lou Reed.  I grew up listening to indie, reggae, rap and house. I was born seven weeks before Sergeant Pepper was released. I come from Solihull near Birmingham. My father had a factory and a few Jamaicans worked there and when I was around 8-10 years old I used to go to the factory on Saturdays and I got into Reggae. I went on to start a fanzine “Pigment” when I was 15. Through this I got to meet bands and slept under the Silver disc for Squeeze “Cool for Cats” whilst sleeping on Squeeze bass player Harry Kakoulli’s sofa. I recorded under the name BOTH! playing synth music and formed a duo and then formed a thrash band playing three gigs in 1986 in Birmingham - the band was “ Blow by Bronson” and then a few years later in 1990 after recording an unreleased single here and another unreleased single there (one was hip hop with Fuzz Townshend from Pop Will Eat Itself and another with Robert Doku from Osibisa) I then sort of managed a band called “Seize The Time” in London and through this was offered a job managing the bookings and equipment in Premises Rehearsal Studio in Shoreditch London. One day BLUR played a few songs to just me and Suede asked me to be a sort of manager to them and I gave their demo to CBS who became Sony (who signed them). I moved to France in 1992 and started a guitar & drums and vocals duo which had bass players sometimes (the drummer Bertrand “Vic” Vicaire. Living in France was difficult for music and I waited 8 years until 2000 to get signed to a label Kung Fu Fighting and released a few songs on a couple of compilation albums. I recorded six songs for Vegomatic and “French Up Song” was on the radio thousands of times. I formed Shendly Movedo with Fabrice Bottini (bass) and Guillaume Rossel (drums) Guillaume and I also recorded as LARAYURE (soundcloud). Fabrice Bottini and I also recorded as Chocolate Leg ( Coldwave band). In 2005 I became more confident playing alone and as Lord Prosser played hundreds of small concerts and open mics. I released an album of my songs produced by Stephane Mellino (Les Négresses Vertes) - album was Lord Prosser “Traces of Yesterday” in 2007. I then recorded under the name “SCRUB FLOWER” releasing an album “Connectivity” in 2011. That was electronic. Then I stopped doing concerts to concentrate on a new project “The Distance”with Ben Leach (The Farm). then decided to call the project with Ben Leach LORD PROSSER because I had stopped using the name for the other projects ( I played between 2010-2018 in different bands with a total of 18 musicians in all ranging from all styles. Between 2020-2024 I did 200 radio show episodes of one hour each. 150 Punk Party Radio Show (mixcloud) and 50 The Other Radio Show (mixcloud) 2020 Released single “Its copyright” 2022 Released single “Cartel” 2023 Released album “How are you” 2024 Released singles: “Dead Flies”, “Dead Flies Dub”, “Back in the game”. 2025 “Magic Thing” on Soundcloud Lo-fi recording with bass lines played on a keyboard maintaining a sound I’m comfortable with that I want to mix live Lord Prosser instagram: rodney.prosser19 www.colourdeluxe.com
