Jocelyn Amari

Jocelyn’s avatar

Simply known as Jocelyn, an R&B solo artist who works independently recording original music and performing cover songs in various venues. She began singing at age nine in local churches and later discovered a love for urban pop and R&B music. From 2002 to 2005, Jocelyn sang lead for various choirs and was a part of leading her high school choir to number one in the U.S. national chorus battle in Nashville, TN in 2004. Jocelyn’s musical style is often compared to that of the late Aaliyah’s laid back cool persona, the sassy stage presence of Beyoncé, the lyrical style of Erykah Badu, and the sultry voice of Anita Baker. Jocelyn began recording original music for her first demo cd in February 2011. The lead titles Throw It Up, Make Love, and On Point has begun to create a growing fan base for her that continues to expand. Most of Jocelyn’s recent works are credited to live performances at Apache Café & Lounge, Pal’s Lounge, Kat’s Café, and The Legend’s Lounge just to name a few (all based in Atlanta, GA).
