Jocelyn (Joz) Sida is a Latina political strategist based out Chicago, IL. At the age of 18 she was the only Latina to be a part of the Rock the Vote project Rock the Trail in 2008 while in college in Wisconsin. In 2012, Jocelyn ran for an open seat on the School Board in her hometown of Fontana, CA. That run jump started Jocelyn's extensive political career. Some of the biggest races in the country like the governor’s race in Florida, mayoral race in Chicago and Los Angeles, countless of congressional races and presidential campaigns are among the almost 34 political campaigns Jocelyn has worked tirelessly in. She works towards promoting a culture of civic engagement in communities that are oftentimes underserved and underrepresented across the country. Recently she worked with Tom Steyer’s presidential campaign as the Nevada State Director, Progressive Turnout project as their National Field Director and Corazon Latino as their National Field Director. From Hawaii to New York, from Miami to Chicago, Los Angeles to Las Vegas, Jocelyn has worked to organize communities around issues of technology, politics, healthcare, gender equality, reproductive rights issues, and immigration, with a specific focus in civic engagement and voter protection. In her free time she supports environmental work with other nonprofit organizations that also focus on social justice and immigration issues. While traveling she picked up a passion to make the people around her laugh by doing stand up comedy. She also loves doing radio since she was 18 years old and started her first radio show in Spanish in Wisconsin. She then participated and hosted numerous shows for a local radio station in Chicago as well. She currently lives in Chicago, IL with her husband and two doggies Luna and Tyson. 5 love languages podcast
