another acoustic cover with some free pad sounds at the back. i've always loved this song for its soulful-ness and probably even a small sense of nostalgia. what i focused on for this set was mixing! worked on eq, compression and reverb for vocals and acoustic. have to say, was really satisfied with the result given that i did this in a single night. went to watch some videos on compression - can't say i'm now an expert but definitely gave me a better understanding on how compression works and how it affects the overall mix. one thing i definitely want to work on is to buy a pop filter. i couldn't really figure out where the de-esser was on reaper and software confuses me a lot. at least with a pop filter, or if i figure out the software, i'll have much better control over the tone for vocals and the plosive sounds won't be so jarring. also for the lip smacking haha. definitely more satisfied with how this sounded compared with the first acoustic cover. maybe i'll reupload that after mixing. done 230121
