In 2009 Joast flew to Los Angeles to record his debut album. Together with producer <b>Todd Burke</b> (Red Hot Chili Pepers, Jack Johnson, The Kooks) and the help of great LA musicians, he made a collection of beautifiul bittersweet tunes. <a href="http://itunes.apple.com/album/transatlantic-hope/id514108854"><b>Transatlantic Hope</b></a> was released internationally on 1 april. The story is told in <a href="http://youtu.be/QhhnOGDWAqE"><b>this short film</b></a> where Joast candidly talks about the making of the album, interspersed with exclusive footage of his American trip. Joast supported <b>Sia</b>, <b>Gomez</b>, <b>The Dears</b>, <b>Josh Rouse</b>, <b>I Am Kloot</b> and <b>Richard Swift</b> (The Shins) on their Dutch gigs.
