Julio Helder
Producer Julio Helder specialises in the behind-the-scenes artistry of arranging sound, applying underground points of view to his pop influences. Producer Julio Helder breathes life into music with a critical ear and a sense for joining together contradictions. DJing since the age of 12, it was early on that he sought to reinvent his approach and inject more excitement into his work. Working under the name JHSD since 2015, he continues this technical approach to the emotion and movement behind music, balancing his love for 80s favourites with modern synth sounds. Julio’s music sits on the boundary where pop ends and a myriad subgenres begin, taking mainstream production sensibilities and approaches them from an underground angle. As a result, his work is unfamiliar enough to excite yet smooth and easy to listen to. His first single, Promises, carries the ambience of Ibiza in it’s rhythms whilst supported by fat synth bass and decorated with intricate ear candy. More layered and complex than both hard-and-fast EDM and pop convention, he is inspired by the retro pop production used for acts like Madonna and Michael Jackson as well as getting into the detail of shaping sound and DJing through Swedish producer Axwell. Promises is a soundtrack which stays in the foreground, and as he builds his career, Julio aims to draw in more versatility from the contradictions in his musical loves.
