His diverse style and technical know how when it comes to bpm blending can have you swaying to shuffling on his dance floors. Rich Nines is the multi-genre DJ alias of Eric Shinn, renowned for 30 years of masterful music curation from Toronto to Vancouver. From art galleries to festival stages, clubs, gyms, raves, weddings, retreats, conferences and movement workshops, his versatility is epic and his mixing skills masterfully morph between songs with engaging musicality to match the mood of any situation. “This mix channels a melancholy psychedelic summer road trip daydream feeling, integrating an overwhelming array of feelings simultaneously exhausted and energized, pulled between the escapism of the rave and the weight of the world with all the feels. This year I’ve been producing new music in a trio project called 1sisters exploring the intersection of '90s trip hop, rave and indie/shoegaze with modern techno, bass, and medieval psychedelia - so it was fun to weave all those influences together in this mix to share a snapshot of the vibes I’m feeling in 2024.
