Christian Cassar, aka Fiiasco, is a 32 year old DJ/producer hailing from Malta. From his early years, Chris showed an affinity for music and song writing. At the age of twelve he took his first guitar and singing lessons, and just a couple of years later he took up the role as a singer/guitarist and songwriter in a local punk-rock band. The catchy melodic vocals and energetic rhythms made him grow fonder of song writing and music production. The band managed to release 4 chart- topping singles, but Chris still felt the urge to experiment with more unconventional and elaborate sounds on his guitar. Through this experimentation Chris decided to start broadening his creative horizons by introducing more samplers and sound processing units in his work, eventually creating pieces he never thought he would be writing. The more he experimented with electronic sounds, the more his interest in the genre grew. During this period of musical growth, Chris met Dean Demanuele, owner of Dazed & Confused Records , who gave him a deeper insight into the music industry. Chris has been making his mark in the local scene ever since his first debut back in 2016, by introducing unfamiliar organic sounds in his sets, and has continued to develop his unique style over the years, characterised by a blend of deep house grooves and dreamy melodic synths. Throughout his career, he has released music on Dazed & Confused Records and curated two online podcast series – Dive Deep and Dream Network. Lately, Chris has been spending most of his time in his small bedroom studio producing music that will be released in the coming months.
