Infinite Expectations by Isa Rose

LYRICS BELOW
My expectations close to infinite, my confidence confused
And every day I feel as though it’s gonna rain
As though I'm waiting for bad news
She visits every other month but usually it’s not enough
My life is made of circles spinning 'round the sun
From diamond rings I lost to neglecting a coffee cup
My best memories illegal and my heart is filled with shame
I tried to write her poetry but every words profane
A fortune teller told me as she gripped onto my hand
"You my dear are not so clear but no one's got a plan"
I’m a lonely soul
I’m a burnt out coal
And I just can’t get it right
I’m a beating heart
With no bullseye darts
Who needs to get it right
Anyway
My coat is filled with moth balls and my hair is knotted up
The words grow sour in my mouth, I’m scared they might erupt
When she comes she brings me gifts like flowers dressed in red
They’ll die within a couple days and I’ll just stay in bed
I’m the fresh east coast
I’m 5’2 at most
What’s it mean to get it right
I’m 20 years old
With no place to go
But I know I could sing all night
Anyway
What do you mean
I can’t seem to understand
What do you mean
M job can’t just be being in a band?
