Isaac Childs was born to create. The Brooklyn-born composer, producer, pianist, keyboardist, engineer and bassist has been flying through scales and chord progressions since grammar school. Affectionately referred to as the “man with the magic hands,” he has an innate ability to emotionally connect with his audiences - often being told after shows “you were playing just what was I feeling or needed.” Isaac’s sound transcends a diverse musical landscape. Through rooted in jazz, his personal compositions reveal his interests and influences within the genres of classical, R&B, funk, hip-hop, and, even, rock music. His first artistic talents were discovered at the tender age of three, when he began filling his first sketchbook with stick figures and drawings of Toucan Sam and Sugar Bear from his favorite cereal boxes. His creativity and passion even merited him a scholarship at Pratt Institute while in elementary school But, Isaac was drawn to music. Moving from visual to musical arts, Isaac was introduced to the recorder flute. His father, a renowned musician and music director in his own right, recognized his son’s interest in music and introduced to the piano. At the age of 13, Isaac had become initiated in the world of music, gaining a solid grasp of music theory, composition and finger techniques. He later learned became adept in playing the bass in his junior high school pep and jazz bands, as well as signing up for music workshops and exercises whenever he could. Today, Isaac continues to hone his skills and share his talents with the world. While releasing his own original and reworked compositions, Isaac has amassed an impressive body of work. He has also been assisting in music direction, as well as playing the keyboard, for touring gospel artist, Wallena Alston, for the past three years. He also provides backing keys, synth effects and production for spoken soul rocker (i am) isis. His production credits include Wallena Alston, Tongo and Ill Famous. He is now preparing the final touches on his, as of yet, untitled, debut solo project, set for release in the summer of 2012
