It's a debut visit to Mauritius for Il Modo today, as we land at the home of a DJ/Percussionist keen to make his name in his new home of Ireland. Here he is forging a name for himself in the city's harder, darker, underground venues .. pushing his sound to a whole new audience. This, is PHIL BASS! Phil Bass is a Dublin-based Techno DJ and Percussionist originally from Mauritius. With over a decade in the scene, Phil is known for unprepared and improvised sets rooted in hypnotic, raw, and driving techno. Starting out in Dublin’s underground circuit, he quickly rose through the ranks with residencies at top venues like, Index, Block, Wigwam and sets across Europe, including Ibiza, Belgium, and France. His background as a percussionist brings a unique rhythmic edge to his DJ performances, blending instinctive groove with driving, percussive soundscapes. Phil is currently focused on pushing his RAW collective with his better half Nila, a return to the gritty foundations of techno and is also a resident of the TRP collective.
