MY BOOK OF PRAYERS MY BOOK OF PRAYERS summons us back to our born gifts, and reminds us they were not gifted to remain dormant, complicit, or fearful. My intersections become maps to radical inclusion. Chronically ill time benders, Indigequeer visionaries, neurospicy un-apologies, survivor wisdoms… the medicines most often overlooked are most needed. I take up arms in the forms I was born for: drummer, dancer, singer, healer. This album urges for global intifada, in every tender and fierce form, until liberation and landback. MY BOOK OF PRAYERS is carried by heartbeats of Indigenous percussion (the ipu, to’ere, hide hand drums, Jingle Dress chimes), and compassed to Rematriation. With Kanaka-Tahitian-Islander Soul and Northern Dakelh Folk Roots. This album is simply KeAloha’s first try at describing the world of Native love and grief that they see and live everyday.
