B Movie Mix ‘B Movie Mix’ is Cinematic Crime Score Soundtrack (fictional) based on a time of conflict (fact). Inside this soundtrack we jump from Blaxploitation American funk to brass-led themes laid on a sonic bed of propulsive bass lines, haunting drum beats, wah wah guitars, and epic Latin strings nodding to disco. There’s also room for crime-funk pieces from Italy, France, Germany & Venezuela. This music was composed in an era (1971-83) of political turmoil and civil unrest as the world moved into the 3rd industrial revolution. The claustrophobia of these compositions reflect this state of flux. My last few mixes have been more ‘mainstream’ than usual so I’ve kept this one obscure.
