Fires In The Night by Everett Parker
published on
The second track of the year is here and goes under the name "Fires In The Night".
A folk tale with vocals, footstomp and a resonator guitar. A tale about going out into the night, breaking the pattern on the wallpaper of life and seeing the beauty in the unknown. But in order to do that, you sometimes have to bury parts you have inside yourself.
This goes out to everyone with an over-adventurous mind. To all the drifters and seekers that lives for the road. To the ones who dare to live unordinary.
I salute you.
》On May 28th, 2021 Everett Parker's second album Outbound Travelin 'Crazies will be released on digital platforms and on a 100 limited run of vinyl.
LYRICS
Booming out the city of the boring
without any napkins in my hand
holding of the creeps in the meadow of the street
I got along by doing wrong
so I moved on
Looking for the out-bound travelin' crazies
looking for the fires in the night
it's how I have to bury
it's how i have to leave myself alone
Trapped inside my mind of prison
I travel far away within
I've been too scared that people would care
to keep the search alive and well for my own
Now it's time to tare the walls down
time to dig, time to dive
there comes a time when to live or to die
I have to choose or I will loose
myself again
Looking for the out-bound travelin' crazies
looking for the fires in the night
it's how I have to bury
it's how i have to leave myself alone
