Before Mind
Dan Peppiatt
I remember my world changing as a 17 year old walking in to Londons iconic Whirlygig in Shoreditch during the early 90s. I attended religiously every week from that moment, along with other seminal nights such as Talvin Singhs ‘Anokha’ , ‘Joi’ , the Dub club in Tufnel park and Megatripolis at Heaven. I was soon chasing down obscure music on my own travels around the world, swapping cigarettes for cassette tapes in Moroccan taxis and Indian markets . Along the way building installations & running sound systems and outrageous stages for the biggest festivals in the country and people like Arcadia, music has always been a constant. After sharing movement, breathwork and meditation for the past 20 years, I was diagnosed with progressive sight loss in 2024. Unable to continue with metal sculpture I returned to my roots of playing and making music and naturally fell into creating epic sound journeys , both djing and playing live. It recently culminated in eight hours of electronic ecstatic dance and live electronic soundbaths at the 2025 Glastonbury festival.
