I'm one of Toledos' Newest up and coming R&B Singers and song writers “BUTTAFLI” I was Born Cassaundra Alicia Bell on July 31, in Toledo, Ohio which is 50 miles west of Detroit, MI. Daughter of former Minister Mr.Tommie T. and Earnitine Bell, I began singing in the church choir at First Church of God in Christ at the age of 6. Coming from a family of singers, at the age of 14 me and my sister Trina formed a gospel group called “Cornerstone“ where we would sing at various churchs around the city. I also sung in the choir at Jesup W. Scott High School loved it . Even though my singing opportunity was placed on hold due to having a daughter born with spinal meningitis which caused hydrocephalous of the brain that I had to care for at the early age of 17 with help from God and others . Music and lyrics continued to speak to me. I allowed myself to continue to write good music, of not just my growth in life, but others aswell. I can say that it's a gift indeed. my focus is to continue pursuing my singing and writing career with songs full of inspiration, the kind of music that people can relate to and lyrics that will touch others. This strive that I have and God given talent, I know that I can and will conquer anything that i put my mind 2. I decribe my music as Different, the type of R@B or Neo-Soul , Indie music that I feel we could use more of , in this Generation. It's Laid Back , Relaxing , Heart Felt ,Inspirational ,Easy to Listen 2, Understanding,Truthful and Real for the most part for a lot of young mothers coming up in general out there, that have been ( torn down ) through what i've been through at an early age, and is now trying to get back up.Remember" ladies, your life isn't done ! it's what you make it to be , it's never to late to do things in your life that you've always wanted ,so set your mind frame right , just do it and have fun while doing it .... no matter the out come at least ,you can always say that you acccomplished something you've always long for. Now my grandmother told me that! (rest in peace Big Ma!) No" offence to you MEN out there! Because their are some good ones, But we as women need to uplift each other with positive words sometimes. Ok "so This is my first CD, not last . I can truly say it decribes apart of me, with my kids being the Reflections" that I sing about. I've had the nickname Buttafli" pronounce BUT-TA-FLI for years, which means daring myself to be different. I'm full of life and color sum what like a Butterfly smiles....I create my music 2 please!
