Please listen to this recorded conversation with Happily Ever After Wedding decor and Design ( www.heaweddings.co.za ) in Johannesburg South Africa before deciding to make use of their services for your wedding.
This phone recording was recorded on 24 August 2012 our wedding took place on 8 September 2012.
We hired HEA (Happily Ever After Weddings) to do the decor at our wedding after finding this company at the Oakfield Farm wedding Expo in Johannesburg and paid a 50% deposit amounting to R18 000 (R36 000 in total).
You can decide for yourself if you would like to receive the service and treatment myself and my new wife received on this phone call from Wynand one of the owners of HEA (Happily Ever After Weddings).
After this phone conversation we were forced to move on to another supplier. To this date (27 September 2012) HEA still retains our deposit without delivering any service to us other than the two free mock ups they did for us to show us their work and ideas for our wedding before we hired them. HEA has also threatened to sue us in a legal letter from their attorneys (received less than a week before our wedding) for the full amount since this recorded call!
Please also beware of HEA's contract , which we refused to sign, as in my opinion it is heavily one sided and gives you no protection as the client. Two simple examples of issues I had with the contract are:
1) HEA have full marketing rights to your wedding even though you are paying full price for the rentals and services HEA can do with the marketing as they please. We are private people and did not want our wedding promoted all over the place.
2) you will be liable for all damage and incorrect delivery of items from HEA's premises in Boksburg until they are returned to HEA's premises after the wedding. In our case that would mean me having to go the HEA's office at 6am on the morning of my wedding to check quantities and condition of the items before it was loaded on their truck and then follow the truck to our venue in Erasmia (centurion) to ensure the driver does not damage the items or run off with them as I will be held responsible. the same would apply for collection and transportation back to HEA offices. For me this was an impossibility to be able to do and the risk was too high to go forward with signing the contract.
HEA also changed quotation and contract terms between quotation versions from before we paid the deposit to after we paid the deposit which I found very unfair especially as we were not notified of the changed terms and had to find these out for ourselves.
After listening to the 24 minute phone call you can decide for yourself if this is a supplier you would like to have for your wedding day.
