As a youngster, my GOD Father, O.C. White was a radio personality for WAWA 1590 AM. He used to bring me records when I was 8 years old. My very 1st record was a 12” single of Rappers’s Delight by the Sugarhill Gang. My step father who also was a radio personality for WAWA, did voiceover introducing a remix done by the station and city’s own, Jerry B. I was impressed so I began making pause mixes on cassette tapes. In 1983, my step father who also was a concert promoter, bring a brand new rap group named RUN DMC to perform at the Eagles Ball room of Milwaukee. I was able to hang out backstage with them before and after the show. I was star struck by the trio but most impressed by the late great Jam Master Jay. I knew I wanted to be him of the group, so I used this desire as motivation. By the time I was 12 years old, I dj’d my 1st club party.
