Suspended (Rough Draft) by Blinde Instinkt

This song was written in one sitting on 28 December 2012, making it at this time one of my most recent works, though it was one of two songs written that day (the other of which is Miracle, still a work in progress but nearly done). Ordinarily, I write lyrics first and music later. More often than not, my songs remain lyrics alone, and in many cases, are simply snippets of lyrics! Suspended, however, came about as I was playing around with some new and different chord progressions. I improvised this and liked it! I decided to take the "less is more" approach and thus all the chords used for the verses are purely subtractive (or diminished, or "suspended") while the chorus utilizes full chords and the outro is primarily additive or augmented chords. I personally consider this song one of my better works as of late, despite having spent comparatively little time on it. It was also recorded, mixed, and mastered in a single two-hour session, and in my opinion it shows, but then again, this was entirely on my own with no high-quality microphone in an environment with inescapable background noise. I hope my music resonates with you as it does with me.
