1/365 Yellow by Blanco Suave

Was inspired by my bandmate @JOLLYGOOD to partake in a 365 day songwriting challenge. He'll post one song a day, then I'll write a song to it the next day. Wish me luck! This will be a challenge for my lyric writing & quick recording chops.
YELLOW:
today
puffs & tufts of pollen hang
a yellow haze
kiss me behind the curtain
lay beneath the sun on a beach of black sand
catch beetles tween your toes close your eyelids so then
its easy to think, mistake the warmth for a corpse
of course sheep get shorn; skin washed ashore
fleece please, pardon what i wore
peace to you and also to me
tall as young corn your hair half as golden
I'd get you stuck between my teeth--sweet kernels
pop goes the weasel
dandelion crowns stain my fingers and your easel
with the loudest sound
of yellow, yellow, oh so yellow
how do you get to be so mellow?
say hello to your friends when you think to
smell flowers while you can and count petals
hold hands and hold on til they let go
be patient, be kind; if you can think to
