Cosmos..What Is It!! Interoperability Between Blockchains by BlockchainWTF
published on
In this episode of WTF is, we cover Cosmos!
Cosmos is its own blockchain that is specifically designed to help interconnect non-related blockchains. Even though many chains use different programming languages, Cosmos intends to act as a "translator", creating interoperability between chains by eliminating the programming language barrier.
Cosmos has two main goals. Interoperability and Scalability. While more and more blockchains are finding success, Cosmos is getting ready to unite several blockchains, achieving a new level of convenience and efficiency.
The Cosmos blockchain will use a hub and spoke model, with several zones running parallel to the Cosmos chain. Cosmos has its own cryptocurrency, Atom, but it is only used for staking, mainly by each zone. Current zones include OmiseGo and EtherMint.
Will Cosmos be the great uniter of blockchains? Let us know your thoughts below in the comments section!
