Bolombo’s avatar

Having grown up in Africa and Europe, Bolombo brought up in a significant musical and cultural diversity since his childhood. He considered music as a way to express emotions and share his cultural influence. It's an essential element in order to gather together and understand people. His life experiences have taught him many things from different communities and populations, at the same time asserting his musical openness. From Angola to Canada, via France and England, he listened and enjoyed a variety of style: Pop, Soul and Hip-Hop, House, Electronica; while being hit by the rhythms of world music: African, Caribbean and Latina. In his vision, everybody has his own perception of music; in fact it's all about feelings, sounds and messages. How can you define something when it sounds Funk, Reggae, Pop, Hip-hop and Electronica? At a young age in France, he started listening and writing rap lyrics then moved to London where he met talented Reggae and funk bands. At this point, he understood that his versatility was part of himself and he did not need to be categorized in any style but just as an artist. When he came back in France he released in 2008 is first album “Voyage” mixing world music, reggae and hip-hop. To share his music, Bolombo has performed in several spots particularly the famous international Jazz Festival in France at Coutances “Jazz sous les pommiers”, “Quartiers d'ETE” at Rennes and several concert halls in Paris. Now in Montreal, he works on a new project and his style evolution goes on and on... In his vision, you should take the time to carefully listen to the sounds and vibrations of his music. Sometimes, you cannot explain the attraction but that is the beauty of his art.
