Blinding Figure of Desire How does grunge sound in 2021? On April 5th, a meaningful day for all grunge lovers, Domestik Violence was released. The tribute that Bodoni pay to their rock heroes, starting with the first EP, is obvious and authentic. The four Italian guys grew inside their domestic walls, listening to 90 minutes long mixtape, with titles written on paper. Having said that, Domestik Violence represents an evolution, in terms of artistic awareness and personality and shows the band during the process of creating its unique path. Deeply rooted in the so-called "Seattle Sound", Bodoni deliver their personal version of what grunge could be in 2021. And what is it by the way? Not just a sound or a way to sing some sad melodies, but a kind of uneasiness and desperate confusion trying to find a way out and finally blow up in your face. And not taking themselves too seriously. The production of the record was entrusted to Federico Viola (Animal House Studio, Ferrara, Italy), while mastering has been carried on by Andrea De Bernardi (Eleven Mastering Studio, Varese, Italy). The themes of the record are well enclosed by its very explicit title itself. According to the band singer and guitarist Nico P.: ‘It’s an almost-concept album. The songs explore human feelings in an intimate relationship: from the first instant to its very end. Even if it is never specified, the main protagonist is always the same. Other songs explore social-political themes such as Midtown Massacre. Dedicated to the Venezuelan Presidential Crisis. Sharp toe is inspired by the death of American band Alice in Chains lead singer Layne Staley. Influencer Influenza with regards to the impact of social network media has in our life.'
