Il-hayl bil hayla, il-hayl bil hayla,
yā sh’ar rās-ha yisḥab il-dhayl.

Ityi ‘tashef il-’arus fi ẓalm ‘illeyleh.
“What a crowd, what a crowd,
Her hair is flowing down to the floor.
Call the hairdresser, call the hairdresser,
To make the bride’s hair shine in the darkest night.”
