AKOSOMBO 001 by Tour de Tete

Akosombo is the name of the dam that forms the largest man made lake in the world, Lake Volta, in Ghana. It's also the name of my podcast series, where I explore the hypnotic, organic, and potentially infectious grooves of the techno that inspires me the most (to dance). The Akosombo Dam and Lake Volta are not without controversy. Although they now provide electricity to major parts of Ghana, Togo, and Benin, their construction and following flooding caused environmental and wildlife disruption and displaced many villages. This podcast is my humble attempt to evoke the mystique, majesty, and fascination that the name Akosombo inspired in me as a young boy when I first learned about it.
