MOLTEN CLOCKS
(music and lyrics by The Ox Prison)
Molten clocks go back in time
diving into waves of ocean blue.
Wooden crosses rise before my eyes
pointing to the place I once knew.
I’ll take a ride down this road
to meet the ghosts of the past.
So far away and yet so close
these pictures move way too fast.
I hit the brakes to slow down
The faces glimmer in the sun.
And I can tell I’m out of place.
The shadows fly across the field.
They disappear without a trace.
Leaving me here inside my guilt,
I’m stepping on the dirty grass,
Destroying bridges that I built
Over the streams of broken glass.
The molten clocks go back in time
colliding with the yellow train.
The silhouettes of those I knew
come back to life and burst aflame.
Molten clocks go back in time
diving into waves of ocean blue.
Wooden crosses rise before my eyes
pointing to the place I once knew.
I’ll take a ride down this road
to meet the ghosts of the past.
So far away and yet so close
these pictures move way too fast.
I hit the brakes to slow down
The faces glimmer in the sun.
