A Chicago native, Raymi is the latest addition to the Rap arena. She brings her soulful grit and edgy play through lyrics and music videos. Through her verses, Raymi reveals her perspective on issues, that without experiences and undertakings, she wouldn’t otherwise be able to comment on. A lifelong dancer she started out freestyling with friends which made her realize there are different ways to love music. To her it made sense, rap is rhythm and poetry. With powerful idols such as J. Cole, Nicki Minaj, Lauryn Hill, Beyonce, and Aaliyah, Raymi was inspired to launch her own music career by creating and producing her first music video. She also credits the many talented artists that she has worked with that has inspired and influenced her style. A talented cosmetologist and painter, Raymi wants to be known for her creative style and flow and loves being underestimated. Simply, she does music because writing makes her feel good. Raymi proves from the first verse she’s not just a pretty face either. As ambitious as she is talented, she lives her life always by words from her grandma, “Pretty is, as pretty does”.
