08BAR RADIO @ RED LIGHT RADIO SAT JULY 18th: Live Remix Session: Vincent Paolo x Kijk Een Ster Showcase: Frenquency, Alle$ & La Vondèl For all inquiries: info [at] 08bar [dot] nl For the past four years the 08bar nights gave Amsterdam producers and beat-makers an opportunty to bring their own tracks, whether it's hip hop, broken beat, techno or house, on a CDR. The tracks will be played the same night they're submitted by giving them the chance to hear the track they produced/mixed over a professional sound system. 08BAR is also a place where like-minded people can connect, give and get feedback, and link with each other. 08Bar wants to stimulate talent, and promote electronic music in the Netherlands, and beyond. Besides a place to exchange music and thoughts, 08BAR became a record label. Medio 2007, our first record came out internationally (distributed by Rushhour). It contains a compilation of the best tracks that were submitted at our 08Bar nights. They are all exclusive tracks, some by producers who already have made a name for themselfs, some by talented but unknown bedroom-producers. In the coming months new tracks will be selected and a new compilation can be expected shortly. We also introduced another dimension to our concept in which we invite beatmakers to remix a track of a prominent producer on the spot. In front of a live audience they have a couple of hours to show their skills. At the end of the evening the outcome is always an inspiring variety of interpretations. In the past producers remixed Dimlite, Sweat X, Tom Trago, Lazer Sword, Zwart Licht, Addison Groove and NT89.
