Pretty boy Twan was introduced to rap music at a young age. He was instantly passionate about its therapeutic effects and driven toward success in a musical career since his youth. Born in Hickory, North Carolina, “Antonine” was quickly shortened to “Twan” before adding “Pretty boy” as a label to describe his natural clean-cut appearance and style choices. Though he was influenced by rappers such as Lil Boosie and Tory Lanez, Twan soon developed his own Urban Rap style with unique lyrical content and undeniable relatability. Twan began actively pursuing music at the age of thirteen, from freestyling at the lunch table, to writing his own lyrics and making debuts in school talent shows. In 2010, Twan was known for being a member of Flyboy$, a hip hop group that was locally popular in Clearwater, Florida. With changing life circumstances came the formation of New frontier, a musical movement based out of Tampa including Twan, his best friend, and cousin. Although the members are not currently together, New Frontier introduced some of the urban musical style and trendy beats that Prettyboy Twan now identifies with. Now following his own path, Pretty boy Twan is introducing his mixed tape, “Dedicated” in January, 2017. Twan’s goal is to make his music engaging by charismatically telling life experiences through a lyrical flow dripping with passion and emotion. “Dedicated” will show the struggles of a young man with an entrepreneur mind-set in a world of ambiguity. The single, “V.I.P.,” which is not featured on the mixed tape, has chiming melodies and a smooth beat more characteristic of a club banger. Though many people in the music industry have molded the rapper, Pretty boy Twan finds that his number one influence is close friend and colleague, Alfrestlye. Despite writing, recording, and performing together, Al constantly stresses how important it is to live up to your full potential and allowed Twan to see how much commitment is required to follow your dreams. With the release of "The Label" in April, 2016 through Sep Entertainment (up for downloads on https://alfrestyle.com/) Pretty boy Twan proves that his technique and subject matter may never be predicted, but he will consistently deliver an exceptional product.
