817 INC
817 INC is a music project we started in homage to Dora Mae Slack aka Grandma Slack (RIP) She was well loved and known by many in the Seattle Central District. Its comprised of different generations of family members. She was a victim of predatory banking loans which we believe contributed to her demise. This is our way of paying tribute. We haven't been able to do much about the gentrification that has created these same type of situations for many of the elderly black residents in the CD and many neighborhoods across the country. But we def can honor her and also show her looking above the family is sticking together and using our voices and talents to make a difference as much as we can.
