patrick riolo I wanted to listen to this several times over before expressing my thoughts. I've been a fan since my first listen around 2009 with "more after we're gone" then went backwards to their first EP. From dramatic life changes to creating memorable moments with (now) lifelong friends, Signal Hill has always been there. As if we're growing together in musical tastes and as individuals, they have become the soundtrack of my life. Verdant perfectly expresses classic sounds while progressing new ideas. Favorite track: Verdant.

Charles Urban Wow! What a fantastic album! Been a fan of Signal Hill for years, and prior to this, 3 EP's was my favorite. However, Signal Hill has topped themselves and created their best album. This is my favorite type of post-rock - not harsh washes of noise, but not middling blandness, just repetitive enough, just enough complexity and change ups, something to get lost in and pull at the emotions. It hits the sweet spot in every way. Favorite track: Ponderlight.

about

"Discarded Futures" is set for release on October 25th, 2024. This milestone record marks the band's 20th anniversary and showcases their evolution of bright, melodic, guitar-focused compositions that blend post-rock intricacy with shoegaze and 90’s emo overtones.

"Discarded Futures" features 9 tracks spanning 48 minutes, offering listeners a journey through Signal Hill's signature sound: crisp, high-strummed chords, slow-handed melodies, and effective hooks that create a cohesive and immersive listening experience.

The album will be available on all major digital platforms, with a special limited edition double vinyl release on transparent rose-colored vinyl, complete with a gatefold jacket. The album will be released via Better Looking Records, known for their work with genre stalwarts Tristeza and The Album Leaf.
