Scraper Legal Protection - SerpApi's U.S. Legal Shield

Our U.S. Legal Shield is included with the Production Plan and higher at no additional cost. It is not available with the Free, Starter and Developer plans.

Under and subject to the terms of your agreement with us, our U.S. Legal Shield covers the scraping and parsing of search engine data, as long as your use of the data or service is not illegal. Such illegal use includes, by way of example and not limitation, copyright infringement, DMCA violations, other intellectual property infringement, privacy violations, fraud, harassment, cybercrime, terrorism, child exploitation, denial-of-service attacks, or war crimes. In short, we assume liability for the lawful collection of public search data (scraping, parsing, and related actions), but not for how that data is ultimately used. We recommend consulting your own legal counsel regarding data usage, as its legality can vary and falls outside the scope of U.S. Legal Shield protection.

The U.S. Legal Shield is available to both U.S. and international companies and individuals. As the name implies, coverage is limited to claims brought under U.S. state or federal law in a U.S. court. Claims arising under foreign law or brought in non-U.S. jurisdictions fall outside the scope of the U.S. Legal Shield.

Since our founding in 2017, no SerpApi customer has paid a single dollar in damages for web scraping using our tools.
