Herculaneum Excavated Ruins Of Herculaneum – Destroyed during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius on 24 August 79 CE.

Entrance to the House of Octavius Quartio, Pompeii. Before the eruption, the spaces on either side of the entrance would have been rented to vendors. The benches near the front door may have been for waiting clients and visitors. The front doors are casts of the originals.
