An Exemplary Traditional Catholic Apostolate, Under Persecution and in Dire Need of Help

The following post, by Dan Sevigny, first appeared at OnePeterFive and is reprinted here with permission. I will add that I know Dan personally, have visited the ranch, and have seen the incredible work they are doing. This apostolate fully deserves whatever support people can send their way! - PAK

In a world where traditional Catholic values are increasingly challenged, Sanctus Ranch stands as a beacon of faith and reverence—a sanctuary where souls can retreat from worldly pressures and experience the authentic love of Jesus Christ. Today, this sacred refuge faces an unprecedented crisis, one that threatens its very existence and the vital mission it serves.

An iconographic project worthy of the Middle Ages — the traditionalist Fraternity of St Vincent Ferrer’s monumental altar in progress

The 1/10 scale model of the future high altar of Our Lady of the Rosary (with wings closed)

The Fraternity of Saint Vincent Ferrer, which has just finished building its conventual church, Our Lady of the Rosary, in Chéméré-le-Roi (Mayenne, France), has decided to construct a monumental historiated high altar. How did this project develop? What will it look like? Richard de Seze interviewed the Father Jordan-Mary, responsible for the project.

They're back! Benedictines of Mary release new CD in honor of Christ the King

If you have been a long-time reader of Rorate you know we love and support the wonderful Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles. Their numerous CDs have topped the classical music charts for years, enabling them to spread the Word of God through music, and continue their mission through the proceeds.

Now, after a three-year hiatus, they have released their 10th CD -- this one in honor of Christ the King.

All proceeds will go toward the construction of a permanent monastery for the Abbey’s growing daughter house in the Ozark mountains of southern Missouri.

For only $15 this CD will make a great stocking stuffer for Christmas or a gift for St. Nicholas's feast day. You can purchase five or more at a discounted rate.

Help an original TLM church repair its ceiling

While most of our readers have not been there, St. Francis de Sales in Benedict, Md. (Archdiocese of Washington), led by the great Fr. Kevin Cusick, has been offering the traditional Latin Mass since the 1980s. In fact, since the first days of Summorum, Fr. Cusick has offered the Mass on a daily basis. He has also restored the historic church and brought it back to its original glory.

Now, in the midst of both Covid and a pandemic of its own kind infecting the Church, the parish needs a sizable fund to fix the 100-year-old ceiling which has driven the Mass to the parish hall.

Please see Father's post below and linked here

AND PLEASE CLICK HERE TO DONATE

Support our TLM parish as we restore, repair and repaint our church ceiling and interior plaster

Our parish has offered the traditional Latin Mass since 1989 under Ecclesia Dei. We have grown into a de facto “personal” parish with traditional Mass offered every day following Summorum Pontificum in 2007.

Officer Eric Talley: We take care of our own

Sorry to be behind on this, but personal life can sometimes get in the way of doing other things, such as rallying our readers around supporting the family of former Officer Eric Talley who was recently murdered by a terrorist.

For those who don't know, Officer Talley was one of many in Boulder, Colorado, recently killed by Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa. But he was also a traditional Catholic and attended the traditional Latin Mass with his family.

And we take care of our own.

This act of terrorism has left Mrs. Talley and her seven children without their husband, father and bread winner. I'm hoping our community will rally around them and put some food on their table now that Eric can't.

TWO REQUESTS:

1) LAYMEN: CLICK HERE TO DONATE TO THE TALLEY FAMILY

2) PRIESTS: Please say a TLM for Eric's soul. Especially the 110 Rorate Caeli Purgatorial Society priests, this is an official request for each of you: Say a TLM for the repose of the soul of Eric Talley soon.

Let's  all do what we can for today for the soul of Eric Talley and for his family. He already laid his life down as so many officers have done for us. Time to take a tiny step towards returning the favor.

No donation is too small.

You Suggest: Fundraiser in support of SSPX seminarians

From a reader:

St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary of The SSPX is planning a pilgrimage to Lourdes to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the SSPX.

As a fundraiser, they are having a “giveaway” wherein people’s tickets are entered in a drawing to win a 2020 Jaguar XE.

The proceeds go to help the various seminarians, both of the USA and of the seminary in Argentina to make the trip. These seminarians must pay for their own tuition or find their own benefactors because the dioceses they reside in do not provide for them. It will be nearly impossible for the South American Seminarians in particular to make this pilgrimage due to local financial difficulty. As a result the United States Seminarians have taken it upon themselves to raise the money needed for themselves and for their financially strained brothers in Argentina.

Tickets can be obtained for a donation BY CLICKING HERE.

You Suggest: Help a jewel of a church in West Virginia renovate its organ

The following email was sent to us by a reader. You may remember back in the summer Rorate visited this church and posted about it. Catholic churches in West Virginia are typically anything but beautiful. To say this church is a jewel is an understatement. This Advent, consider opening your hearts, and your wallets, to help restore this organ and keep the church thriving in the future. It is the only diocesan parish in the entire state with a weekly Sunday Traditional Latin Mass!

From a reader:

St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Weston, West Virginia, is working to renovate and expand its pipe organ.  Weston is a small town in central West Virginia, with an historically strong Catholic population.  St. Patrick’s is currently the only diocesan parish with a weekly Sunday TLM.  The pastor, Fr. James DeViese (whose responsibilities include three parishes, a school, and work in the Diocesan chancery), seeks to encourage a greater “mutual enrichment” between the two forms of the Roman Rite, while managing the limited resources of a small parish.

This video isn't short, but it's well worth your time. See a beautiful computer rendering of what will be the largest church the Society has ever built, as well as a wonderful history of St. Mary's, Kansas. If you're inspired, you may CLICK HERE to donate to the church fund.

You suggest: Help restore the Shrine of Christ the King Novena starting December 17

From our friends at the Institute of Christ the King:

Emmanuel :  God is with us.

As we approach the great feast of Christmas, join the Institute of Christ the King in the Infant King Novena to prepare for the birthday of our God, the Eternal Word made flesh.  Venite adoremus!

Join us during these final days of Advent in the Infant King Novena as we prepare to celebrate the mystery of our redemption, the Mystery of the Incarnation.  From December 17 through Christmas Day, let us meditate and reflect on the greatest gift the world has ever received and our appreciation of this Eternal Gift in our daily lives.

You Suggest: 12 days to raise £1.2 million

Fr. De Malleray, FSSP, asked us to pass this along to our readers. Let's help them get this done!

Be part of this miracle – help us secure a strong traditional Catholic hub in England

The FSSP in England is growing and needs larger facilities. We raised half a million pounds this past summer to buy two buildings next to our beautiful Pugin Church in Warrington. But we need another GBP1.2m by 18 October, or the owner will turn it into flats.

With so many gloomy news across the Church and world, please support this promising Catholic venture. There, the first EF priestly ordinations by an English Archbishop in 50 years occurred last year. There, the same Archbishop, Malcolm McMahon OP of Liverpool, came thrice in three years to ordain priests. There, traditional doctrine is broadcast through daily homilies and frequent lectures via LiveMass.

The Priory Campaign is supported by the Latin Mass Society, by pro-lifers such as SPUC40 Days for LifeGood Counsel Network, and other prominent Catholics such as Archbishop McMahon, Jacob Rees Mogg and Viscountess Ashbrook.

Watch our short presentation video, by EWTN film director Stefano Mazzeo:

To donate:
1.      please make the cheque or bank transfer payable to ‘FSSP ENGLAND’;
2.      write ‘Priory Campaign’ on the back of your cheque or in the bank transfer reference.
3.      Are you a UK tax payer? Help us maximize your donation through Gift Aid.  Please download our Gift-Aid form. FSSP ENGLAND is a registered charity: number 1129964.

First-ever traditional consecration of a Benedictine Abbess in the U.S., and the start of a novena

Those of you that have read this blog for a while know that we are very close to, and absolutely adore, the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles. Two important things are taking place for them soon.

First, Mother Cecilia, the Mother Prioress, will become the Mother Abbess [click here for backstory]. On September 9, at 9 a.m. Central, the new church will be consecrated. On Sept. 10, at 10 a.m. Central, the first-ever consecration of a Benedictine Abbess in the traditional rite in the United States will take place. You can watch a live stream of the ceremonies by clicking here

Second, the Sisters, with great help from our readers over the years, have almost hit their fundraising goal to finish their new church. To help, please consider enrolling in their Our Lady of Sorrows Novena of Latin Masses. You can enroll for only $15, but please do so soon -- enrollment is open until Sept. 15 but if you enroll before the 7th you'll get your Mass cards in a more timely manner.

Buy a CD, build a church and priory!

Long-time readers know we adore the sisters of the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles -- and that we personally contribute to them. We say that because we want you to know we are investing in the places we're asking you, our readers, to prayerfully consider investing. And make no mistake: Helping these great sisters is an investment in eternity!

Now, you can donate to them, help them build their new church and priory, and receive their newest CD -- music so beautiful you must hear it to believe it. Please check out the video, below. While it only costs $15 to purchase the CD, we urge you to give more on top of that, and help move this critical construction project along.

Because of the generosity of the faithful, and many of our readers, the work of the new church and priory has progressed well.

Appeal: Help keep the Roman Forum going

Many of our readers are aware of the critical work our friend, Dr. John Rao, and The Roman Forum  do every year on behalf of the Church and traditional Catholics everywhere. Their work is more important today than ever before, for obvious reasons.

The last time we implored you, our reader, to help, we helped raise over $10,000 to keep the Forum going. We are asking now once again. Please read below, and please click here to donate whatever you can.

The Roman Forum
11 Carmine St., Apt. 2C
New York, NY 10014

Dear Friends of the Roman Forum

Funds continue to be needed for Gardone because we have eleven scholarship candidates from among the eighty Summer Symposium participants--future seminarians, and students---none of whom has sufficient means for attending. Each of them needs $1,500 to be able to attend. Allow me to summarize why I think attendance is so important.

Mother knows best! Support the seminarians of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest

The following letter was given to us by this mother of a seminarian of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest (ICR). When we ask you to consider giving money to causes, you should know we almost always have done so ourselves. We support an ICR seminarian on a weekly basis. We ask you to as well, even in very small dollar amounts, if at all possible. You can click here to do so now, by scrolling down to "International Seminary":

Letter from the Mother of a Seminarian:

The late Father John Hardon, of happy memory, once said, "The proof of love is pain." We see this truth in all it's paradoxical beauty when we gaze upon our crucified King on the Cross.

We have begun a new liturgical year with the start of Advent; that time of joyful waiting for the birth of our Precious Lord. We will prepare for this great feast with special prayers, adornments for our souls and for our homes, and works of mercy, to name a few. We will relish our Advent traditions. We will spend the next four weeks contemplating what we are about to celebrate; the dawn of our Redemption.

Help a former Franciscan Friar of the Immaculate -- and sanctify your family

As we did last year when he was setting up his new hermitage, we once again ask our readers to help a priest formerly of the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate (FFI), who is now living as a hermit in the Diocese of Harrisburg.

We here at Rorate chronicled the brutal treatment of these priests -- and the utter destruction of their order -- under the current pontificate for the last few years. So those of you who have read this blog for a while know what they've gone through. This good priest's request is a win-win for him, his new mission and you. By helping him you are helping sanctify your family and/or other families you enroll. What a great Christmas present this would make for your family or a family you care about! Deadline to enroll is December 17.

Bishop Ronald Gainer, Fr. Maximilian Mary (black habit), witnesses and servers after Father’s 1st profession as a hermit in the Diocese of Harrisburg on Sept. 12th, 2017.

Update from the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles

Below is a nice update of the construction progress for the new church for the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles. These great sisters have a special place in our hearts. St. Joseph is keeping up his end of the deal -- now they need your help as well!

Traditional nuns need help once more -- keep the construction going!

While we try to keep our fundraising appeals here limited, we do have a special place in our hearts for the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles. Finding a more holy -- and traditional -- order of nuns would be a difficult task. And we feel obliged to help, even when they tell us we don't have to, as they did once again. And, as always, this is one time we feel comfortable disobeying!

These novenas are helping to fund the sisters' new church. They've broken ground but the money will run out -- and construction will stop -- by the Fall if we fail to answer their calls for donations.

Their latest Novena of traditional Latin Masses, which go towards the construction, will begin on June 23 in honor of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus for all families and persons, both living and deceased, enrolled in the Novena. You MUST have your names in BEFORE next Friday.

But you should act now -- the sisters need time to mail your enrollment card. If you enroll today or the next couple of days, they'll have plenty of time to send them.

We personally contribute to these wonderful sisters often and ask you to do the same.

You Suggest: Traditional Carmelites need help building a new monastery

The following was sent to us by a reader. An important cause, indeed:

DONATE ONLINE HERE (for address for checks, click "read more")

Dear Rorate Caeli,

There is a Carmelite community in Elysburg, PA, that uses the Tridentine Mass and Breviary exclusively and who need help building a new monastery. Because they are true blue cloistered nuns (no internet use, no videos, no CDs - just joyfully hidden away in their monastery), I wondered if you might be able to alert your readers to their need.
