I’m a fan of yours from back in the 80s, and I was delighted to see that you are still writing. But a comment. On cenotaphroad.com, clicking the title of one of your books takes you to a picture of the book’s cover. Wouldn’t it make more sense for the link to take you to the amazon.com page, or to your own bookstore?
Which cover? The three Weapons of Chaos all go to Amazon and Hammer & Fangs goes to B&N.

I lost your email address and can’t find it, and I’d like very much to touch bases with you – after however many years it’s been – about TusCon, BuboniCon, and western fandom in general these days. Things sure ain’t what they used to be, my friend.

Last time I was *in* Tucson was for the first Tucson Book Fair (3 yrs ago? 4?)
I’m imagining you have already written up the circumstances behind what happened with Alien Death Fleet by Edward S. Hudson – which for me after finishing the last page became excruciating to realize the next two books were unpublished. Every publisher who had anything to do with Pageant books knew nothing and I figured you musta died or something. I am excited to read the other two now that I know they exist, but I’m curious why it took so long. Would you enlighten me?
It took the decline of legacy publishing and the rise of small presses/epublishing to make these marketable again. No major publisher would ever touch a trilogy that’s had 1 or 2 titles put out by another publisher. The big sales on book #1 will be gone, so they inherit only lesser sales potential. It’s been a while and I’m looking for new readers for the books (under my name and not a pen name this time). Zumaya is doing a bang-up job with them, both in dead tree and ebook. ALIEN DEATH FLEET and GENETIC MENACE are out now and BLACK NEBULA is awaiting a new cover from the fabulous Hugo(s) award-winning Brad Foster. Not sure when it will go live, as the lingo is now, but within a few months.
My plate has been so full of other projects, I haven’t had a chance to revisit the final book in the After the Spell Wars trilogy to get it ready for publication from Zumaya. After I finish the sf book I’m currently working on, a dozen comic book related pages and a new western, I’ll get to WIZARD’S SPELL MIRROR and finish off the other Pageant trilogy.

I wanted to ask you a little question: you will write the remaining chapter of the God of War series?
I wish I could say yes. Writing the other installments in Kratos’ saga was great fun. Sony licenses the right to publish the books. For whatever reason, Random House did not renew the license (or it wasn’t offered to them when it expired–this is above my pay grade). So, alas, I won’t be writing future (if any) tales of the God of War. I hope you enjoyed the 2 I did write (and co-wrote).

I’ve been following you on twitter for a while and been meaning to get in touch for longer! We corresponded for a few years in the late 80’s, culminating with you dedicating a book to me (The Lord of Death and Life from The Accursed Trilogy.)
Your books are lined neatly up on the bookshelf in my living room, signed ones with pride of place.
I still enjoy sci-fi and science in general and am glad you’re still writing.
