The Redux version doesn't change much, just a little improvement here and there. It is a linear FPS, set in a dystopian future, mostly underground in the Russian metro stations (hence, the title). Some parts are outside, most ganderous parts to be precise. There are not many choices that you make, all affect the game slightly in the end. It's no Fallout, but there is some replayability to get a bit altered story and a different ending. The looks are great, the sound is great, the fighting is very good. Enemies are not very diverse but still interesting. The atmosphere is terrific. This is what makes it one of the best modern FPSs and worth 100% of the full price.

The game is a living legend, so it’s really hard ti review. Dota 2 is also a thriving pro cybersport with the biggest prizes, that means the game will be up for a long time with new patches and updates coming regularly. I’ve had so much fun playing it that I barely noticed 2000 hours passed. Though popular the game is, but I must tell that it is not an easy pastime. You will be beaten, humiliated, hated, abused, tortured, broken and finally dead lots of times. And yet it’s hard to stop playing, coz you get superhigh when you win a 60 minute fight. The extraordinary number of players also leads to the phenomenon: no matter how well you play, there are always thousands guys who play better than you do. Keep this in mind if you only start playing now, there’s just no point in trying to become the best, that is just not possible.
It also has probably the highest concentration of douchebags, fumbfucks, dickheads and Dunning-Kruger patients in the entire gaming community. So the social part of playing often looks like this: one sane guy constantly tells his party of a few crazy guys to fight enemies, not each others. If you are not afraid of all of the above, then give it a try, and you’ll get probably the best free MMO of all times with more than a hundred heroes and items, infinite replayability.

Loot box progression system ruins everything in the game. Gamers are forced to grind old missions over, and over, and over again. Or you can bring in the real cash! And I feel like EA did that on purpose to make you pay, because grinding is very frustrating and boring. Bad game design, no recommend.

Putting these two games and characters together is an ingenious idea, both add to each other and have a remarkable synergy. Also, if you love the music from these games the mash up is in the OST too. All in all, this is a great game.

This game reminds of what real MMO RPGs must be about: exploring the world and discovering new things from the cramped dungeons to the vast open world.
Speaking of the environment, mountains are designed to be the main feature and they do their best in entertaining players for each mountain is unique and challenging. Maps here are filled with enemies to fight and locations to fight for, they are quite diverse and come in unexpected combinations which is exactly what you can expect from a good MMO RPG. Path of Fire has had its flaws but under new direction it seems that a golden age has started. So don’t miss it, try it now.

An action RPG with a fantastic world. It has everything it should have - interesting factions to join, hard and unique monsters to fight, lots of various stories to explore. The overall experience is great and put the game in line with the likes of Gothic titles or Dark Souls.
My only gripe is melee fights. In theory the fighting system sounds nice: you have defensive and offensive moves, and have to defend yourself unless you see a mistake in the opponent's fighting and then your strike. In reality, it is a very slow and sometimes frustrating experience, as just one mistake might make you loose a very important and long fight only to start it all over again. Small hint: if you choose to be a mage, you'll be able to ignore melee fights starting from act 2.
But this is just my impressions after playing it several times. By and large, Risen is an exceptional game that every action/RPG lover must try.
