About this app

The official app for Citi Bike, NYC’s bike share system.

Citi Bike consists of a fleet of specially designed, sturdy and durable bikes that are locked into a network of docking stations throughout the city. Our bikes can be unlocked from one station and returned to any other station in the system, making them ideal for one-way trips. Bike share is a greener, healthier way to get around — whether you’re commuting, running errands, meeting friends, or exploring in a new city.
The Citi Bike app gives you access to thousands of bikes in your area — unlock and pay directly from the app and get going.

The Citi Bike app also shows upcoming public transit departures, including MTA subway trains, shuttles, local, limited, & express buses, LIRR commuter rail trains, Metro-North commuter rail trains, PATH rapid transit trains, Bee-Line local & express buses, NYC Ferries, the Staten Island Ferry, the AirTrain JFK, the AirTrain Newark, the Roosevelt Island Tramway, and NJT commuter rail trains, light rail trains, & buses.

Within the app, you can purchase the following Citi Bike passes:

If you live in Manhattan, never take these bikes as work commute. There is never bike availability in the morning. It's a great service to NYC; but if I have to keep sweating myself every morning chasing up to 20 blocks for the dock with one good bike just to find it gone anyways, it's enough to take off 2 stars. Full disclosure: yes, I am writing this because this just happened again. Only this time I actually saw people arguing over last available bikes. I'm also 30 mins late.

Prices arent clearly displayed on each station. The app has long list of conditions and procedures need an hour to read then accept as if im going to open a 1 million dollars account at a bank or buy a house! ... make it clear and simple, its just a bicycle rent.

Really bad. Had trouble renting a bike for ages even after signing up for the account. No helpful prompts. Information is scattered. And the kiosks are even worse. Downloaded this to try an e bike. Now I'm out 30 dollars over two attempts and I haven't gotten to ride one for a second. Spoke to customer service on the phone and they weren't helpful at all. Really disappointing. Go via Lyft if possible, avoid at all costs.
